Fort Worth, TX – February 2013 – Working together, the White Settlement ISD, Education Foundation Board, and CIA&D amassed over 1,374 pounds of personal items for our troops in Afghanistan. These were gathered with the intention of showing support and appreciation for those service men and women serving our country.
Sponsored by the White Settlement ISD Education Foundation and CIA&D, collection boxes were set throughout the area schools. Students, parents, and faculty donated a variety of personal hygiene items such as toothpaste, deodorant, body wash, and soaps. Items also included books, candies, snacks, and games along with pictures and cards drawn by the students. The items were then gathered and taken to the CIA&D facility where they were sorted, packaged, and prepared for shipping overseas.
